EXPLORING NEANDERTHAL TERRITORY: ROCA DELS BOUS VISIT

The visit to the site of the Roca dels Bous begins in the Espai Orígens, visitor center located in the town of Camarasa, where visitors will be provided with digital touch screens that will guide them along the way and where they will receive the necessary information to start their journey into the past.

The exploration of the Neanderthal territory starts at the foot of the Roca dels Bous rockshelter. The itinerary is divided in several observation points to reach finally the archaeological site and visit the current excavation. Thanks to the use of digital touch screens and multimedia contents -which can be used autonomously or following the guided visit- visitors can obtain detailed information about homo neanderthalensis’ way of life and the surrounding landscape. Once in the archaeological site, visitors will get in touch with the mechanisms and research methodology needed to document the fossil record and to interpret the past.
